The Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk, working as an In-Store Grocery Shopper, plays a crucial role in ensuring that customers' online orders are selected and gathered efficiently, with a strong emphasis on maintaining the freshness and quality of products. This position involves assembling customers' online orders, processing coupons and payments, and delivering and loading orders into customers' cars upon their arrival at the store for pick-up. The role is designed to provide a positive customer service experience that encourages customers to return to online shopping. As part of the e-Commerce team, the Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk is responsible for initiating and completing the selection process for customers' online orders. This includes scanning and bagging orders while adhering to all bagging standards. The clerk must communicate any substitutions or exceptions to the customer's order at the time of pick-up, ensuring that customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness are met or exceeded. The position requires strict adherence to local, state, and federal laws, food safety procedures, and company guidelines. The Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk will receive customers' orders from the Order Selector, store products in optimal temperature zones, and ensure the quality and freshness of all items chosen. Effective communication with customers via a portable phone is essential, as is the ability to respond to calls in a professional and timely manner. The clerk will retrieve each customer's order from various staging locations, ensure order accuracy, and load the order into customers' cars. Additionally, the clerk must maintain organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment, report any discrepancies, and perform required opening and closing procedures. The role also includes assisting in training new e-Commerce team members and adapting to new and improved processes, all while meeting or exceeding productivity standards.
