About the position

The Online Instructional Designer will play a crucial role in the Department of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, focusing on the design and development of online courses for clinical and translational science training programs. This position aims to create a series of online training modules over a two-year period, specifically tailored to meet the needs of underrepresented early career faculty and postdocs. The role requires expertise in course design, educational technology, and project management to ensure the delivery of engaging and effective instructional materials.

Responsibilities

• Consult with educators on the design, development, and delivery of instructional materials.
• Assist in the design and development of online courses for training programs in clinical and translational science.
• Create a series of online training modules focused on professional competencies essential for scientific research careers.
• Apply research-based course design principles to develop engaging instructional materials.
• Present online content in a clean, organized, and visually appealing manner.
• Learn and work with various learning management systems, authoring tools, and educational technologies.
• Manage multiple projects by identifying steps, creating timelines, and tracking progress.

Requirements
