About the position

D'Youville University is seeking an Online Instructional Designer to enhance its online course offerings. This role involves collaborating with faculty to create engaging learning experiences, managing the Learning Management System (LMS), and providing instructional design support. The position aims to ensure high-quality online and hybrid courses that align with the university's mission and strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with faculty and course creators to produce engaging learning activities and course content.
• Act as a Canvas LMS Graphical User Interface (GUI) Administrator.
• Provide consultation, project management, and troubleshooting for technology integration in the curriculum.
• Develop and disseminate customized professional development opportunities for faculty.
• Conduct Course Design Reviews and provide feedback to faculty for improvement.
• Evaluate instructional media and social media tools.
• Ensure compliance with NY State and federal requirements for online offerings.
• Provide technical support to students, faculty, and staff in Online Learning.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge through professional development opportunities.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in customer service with technology support.
• Knowledge of instructional design for higher education online classrooms.
• Ability to adapt to new systems and train user groups.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to adhere to project timelines.

Nice-to-haves

• A master's degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with LMS products like Blackboard, Moodle, or Canvas.
• Trained course reviewer using recognized rubrics such as Quality Matters.
