About the position

The Online Middle School Teacher position at Brilliant Microschools involves teaching English Language Arts (ELA) and Math to middle school students in a remote setting. Teachers will engage with students through live online classes, utilizing a mastery-based curriculum designed to accommodate diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Present lessons in a comprehensive manner and use visual/audio means to facilitate learning.
• Provide individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning.
• Create and distribute educational content (notes, summaries, assignments, etc.).
• Assess and record students' progress and provide grades and feedback.
• Maintain an orderly online classroom.
• Collaborate with parents and align on expectations.
• Plan and execute educational project-based learning activities.

Requirements

• A degree in teaching with a certificate in education.
• Proven experience as a teacher.
• Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal, educational guidelines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Special Education teaching experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with middle schoolers (2 years required).
