About the position

Housby is seeking a dedicated and experienced Operations Manager to join our growing Online Sales team in Des Moines, IA. This full-time position is pivotal in ensuring customer retention and profitability across various areas of Housby Online Sales, including Mobile Rebranding, Mobile Welding, Mobile Engines, Used Parts, and Collisions. The Operations Manager will oversee departmental procedures, coach management personnel, and ensure that each department operates efficiently and effectively. The primary responsibilities include monitoring department performance through key metrics such as revenue, profitability, and efficiency. The Operations Manager will establish both short and long-term operating and financial objectives that align with the company's overall plans and policies. Effective communication within and between departments is crucial, as is the establishment of policies that foster positive customer relations. The role also involves staying informed about competition and market conditions, setting performance goals, and making necessary adjustments to achieve those goals. In addition to supervising and developing management personnel, the Operations Manager will regularly evaluate business procedures against organizational objectives and implement improvements as needed. Financial oversight is also a key component of this role, including reviewing financial information and adjusting operational and sales budgets to enhance profitability. The Operations Manager will travel with the sales team as needed to present to a national customer base and manage relationships with external partners and vendors. This position requires a commitment to promoting safe work habits and maintaining a professional image at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor department performance with key metrics, including revenue, profitability, and efficiency.
  • Establish short and long-term operating and financial objectives for all areas of responsibility (AOR) within the company's overall plans and policies.
  • Maintain appropriate communication within and between all other departments within the Company.
  • Oversee the establishment of policies and practices which will ensure positive customer relations.
  • Stay current with competition and market conditions.
  • Set goals, compare performance to goals, and adjust goals as needed.
  • Review and appraise the results within each department and take appropriate action as necessary.
  • Ensure that approved policies and objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied within each department.
  • Supervise and develop management personnel.
  • Evaluate business procedures regularly according to organizational objectives and apply improvements.
  • Review financial information and adjust operational and sales budgets to promote profitability.
  • Travel with sales team as needed to present to National customer base.
  • Manage relationships/agreements with external partners/vendors.
  • Assist with the overall management of National Account related to operations, regarding overall pricing and agreements.
  • Formulate annual and monthly sales/profit objectives and expense budgets in accordance with company objectives.
  • Provide explanations for month end financial review questions.
  • Promote safe work habits and ensures that safety rules are followed.
  • Conduct L10 meetings with appropriate staff.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of previous management experience, preferably in an operation capacity.
  • Strong decision-making ability.
  • High accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and achieve financial plans.
  • Ability to motivate and lead employees.
  • Strong working knowledge of operational procedures.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and dependable transportation.
  • Must demonstrate integrity, persistence, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
