About the position

The SCADA Programmer Analyst position involves collaborating with engineers and developers to deliver software and hardware solutions for upstream unconventional field production assets. The role encompasses all aspects of SCADA engineering, including planning, requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of SCADA systems.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers, data managers, and software developers to define, build, and deliver solutions for upstream unconventional business problems.
  • Architect, implement, deploy, and support SCADA systems like WonderWare and Ignition.
  • Learn and share software industry best practices with team members.
  • Work with production and facilities teams to integrate well site data and field automation into SCADA systems for alarm historizing/trending and display.
  • Provide day-to-day support, maintenance, and development of SCADA systems using corporate-driven standard solutions.
  • Support plants and facilities and the process controls within these sites.
  • Interface with various customer and support elements including automation, measurement, engineering, production, operations, and IT support staff.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with software developers and domain experts.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience developing, deploying, and supporting SCADA systems and automation control systems.
  • Proficiency in SCADA platforms such as WonderWare, Ignition, AutoSol (ACM), XSPOC.
  • Proficiency in Firewall platforms like Cisco ASA, Cisco FTD, Palo Alto, Eagle One.
  • Excellent interpersonal/customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work well with field I&E staff and Houston development support.
  • Willingness to participate in a rotational 7-day on-call schedule with team members.
  • Ability to travel to remote sites for training, projects, and support.
  • IT knowledge of Microsoft server operating systems and applications such as MS SQL 2012.
  • Strong leadership, project management, customer-service orientation, and good interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of building, deploying, and supporting Ignition screens using Python.
  • Prior work experience in the upstream oil and gas industry.
  • Prior work experience with large scale data management systems.
  • Experience working on teams following Agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience participating in the user-centered design process.
  • Working knowledge of AutoSol (ACM), ACP ThinManager, Win911, and Ignition.
  • Experience working with RTUs (ROC, TotalFlow), PLCs, and related HMI hardware and software (Allen-Bradley, Modicon, GE).
  • 3 years of experience working with WonderWare's software suite (IAS, InTouch, InSQL).
  • Understanding of field radio and network communications.
  • IT knowledge of Microsoft's server operating systems and applications such as MS SQL is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of field data capture and production accounting systems.
  • MQTT knowledge and experience.
