About the position

The Onsite Desk Side Support Engineer at Infosys is responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for desktop computing environments. This role involves collaboration with other engineers and subject matter experts to ensure efficient operation and resolution of technical issues related to end-user computing technologies. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong focus on customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Regional IT Team for technical queries and additional support.
  • Build and install PCs, telephone systems, wireless networks, and peripheral devices related to desktop infrastructure.
  • Maintain installed PCs, networks, telephone systems, and peripherals with routine maintenance.
  • Identify, log, and resolve technical problems with software applications or network systems.
  • Identify potential changes and system improvements to present to technical teams for consideration and implementation.
  • Collaborate with Technology team members to ensure efficient operation of the organization's desktop computing environment.
  • Receive and respond to incoming calls, messages, and/or work orders regarding desktop problems.
  • Ensure that work is carried out within agreed service levels and in accordance with project guidelines.
  • Explain and document technical issues in a clear way to technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Liaise with third-party support and PC equipment vendors as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution, or three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
  • At least 1 year of Information Technology experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience with Microsoft desktop operating system and Windows application deployment, configuration, and management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Client OS (Win7,8,10,11).
  • Knowledge of Active Directory & its services, DHCP, DNS, and File services.
  • Experience with Hardware Break-fix and Smart Hand Support in Network & Server devices (Basic).
  • Experience with Patch Management.
  • Strong capabilities in Windows 10 support, migration & deployment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic expertise in supporting network devices and servers in a business environment.
  • Proactive and passionate about the EUC world, with strong interpersonal skills and excellent time management skills.
  • Good communication and analytical skills.
  • Experience with technologies from Microsoft SCCM, VMWare Horizon, Intune.
