About the position
The Onsite Electrical Engineer / HW Design Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of custom embedded hardware devices and power electronics specifically for the marine industry. This role involves collaboration with contract manufacturers and requires thorough documentation throughout the development process.
Responsibilities
- Design & develop custom embedded hardware devices as well as power electronics.
- Work with contract manufacturer on developing factory acceptance testing.
- Create and maintain documentation through the development process including specifications, test plans, circuit designs, schematics, PCB layout, etc.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in designing embedded hardware.
- Prior circuit design / schematic capture, and PCB layout experience.
- Altium Designer OR Altium 365 experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Familiarity with permanent magnet motors, induction motors, and/or motor controls.
