About the position

As an Electrical Engineer at Planate Management Group, you will play a crucial role in planning and evaluating new projects, particularly in the healthcare sector. This position involves coordinating with various engineering disciplines to develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for overseeing projects from initial scoping through construction support, utilizing advanced software for design and modeling, and preparing engineering plans for public authority approval.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, evaluate, and coordinate new projects, ensuring all design requirements are met in collaboration with other engineering disciplines.
  • Develop detailed design solutions for ground-up construction, tenant improvements, and infrastructure upgrades, with a focus on healthcare design experience.
  • Use advanced computer software to create drawings and virtual models, presenting design concepts to teams and clients.
  • Prepare and submit engineering plans, calculations, and drawings to public authorities for approval, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Perform engineering economic analyses and evaluate building systems to meet project scope requirements, ensuring the adequacy of design solutions.
  • Develop and monitor project budgets and schedules, overseeing projects from initial scoping through construction support.
  • Prepare plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) packages that emphasize safety, constructability, and context sensitivity.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Minimum of 8 years of specialized experience in electrical engineering, with a strong emphasis on healthcare facility design.
  • Must be a Professional Engineer (PE).
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare industry standards and regulatory requirements, including TJC, OSHA, and NFPA.
  • Proficient in using computer software for design and modeling.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with experience in preparing reports and client briefings.
  • Expertise in preparing and submitting engineering plans for approval, with familiarity in modern construction products and applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables from start to finish.
