About the position

We are seeking a dedicated Onsite Human Resources Generalist to join our team at United Staffing Associates. This versatile HR professional will report directly to a specific worksite on a day-to-day basis, playing a crucial role in managing a broad range of HR functions. The position involves onboarding new employees, maintaining employee relations, and ensuring compliance with various employment laws and regulations. The HR Generalist will be the primary point of contact for employees regarding HR-related issues, including paid sick leave, absence tracking, and health insurance details. This role is essential in promoting a positive work environment and addressing any employee grievances or issues promptly and fairly. In addition to employee relations, the HR Generalist will be responsible for compliance and policy enforcement, ensuring that all company policies, procedures, and guidelines are communicated and adhered to. The role also includes performance management, where the HR Generalist will maintain the employee workforce point system and provide guidance to managers on evaluating employee performance. Furthermore, the HR Generalist will identify training needs and coordinate training sessions to enhance employee skills and knowledge, covering topics such as workplace safety, harassment prevention, and diversity and inclusion. The HR Generalist will assist employees with questions related to payroll, benefits, and compensation, ensuring that compensation practices are competitive and align with company policies. Collaboration with onsite safety teams is also a key aspect of this role, as the HR Generalist will address health and safety concerns and assist with compliance with occupational safety regulations. Additionally, the HR Generalist will prepare and analyze HR reports, providing insights and recommendations based on HR data to improve workforce management and planning. Strategies to enhance employee engagement and reduce turnover will also be developed and implemented, fostering a sense of community within the workplace. Finally, the HR Generalist will act as a liaison between management and the corporate HR team, ensuring alignment of HR strategies and policies and participating in corporate HR initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with United Staffing Associates recruitment team to understand staffing needs and ensure timely hiring practices.
  • Facilitate onboarding processes for new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for United Staffing Associate employees regarding HR-related issues.
  • Promote a positive work environment and report any employee grievances or issues promptly and fairly to management.
  • Implement and oversee employee engagement initiatives to foster a productive workplace culture.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Communicate and enforce company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and documentation.
  • Maintain employee workforce point system process and provide guidance to managers on evaluating employee performance.
  • Collaborate with management to implement performance improvement plans for employees not meeting expectations.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate training sessions for employees to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Assist employees with questions related to payroll, benefits, and compensation.
  • Support the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans.
  • Collaborate with onsite safety teams to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Prepare and analyze HR reports, such as turnover rates and headcount.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee engagement and reduce turnover.
  • Act as a liaison between management and corporate HR team, ensuring alignment of HR strategies and policies.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of HR principles and practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong conflict management skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information/issues
  • Knowledge of workforce management practices and procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work overtime as needed including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to support recruiting activities effectively
  • A bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, or related field
  • Bilingual English/Spanish language and literacy skills required
  • Professional In Human Resources certification (SHRM-CP or PHR) a plus but not required
