About the position

The Onsite Medical Representative will provide first aid support and health guidance to employees at the Amazon site in Detroit, MI. This role involves assessing and administering care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries, coordinating workers' compensation programs, and engaging in health and wellness advocacy. The representative will work closely with site management and participate in safety committee meetings, ensuring a proactive approach to employee health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid support and make referrals to outside medical providers as necessary.
• Minimize the employee risk of injury through awareness, education, and proactive engagement.
• Maintain all records of care provided to employees.
• Coordinate and maintain the workers' compensation and return to work programs for employees with work-related injuries.
• Provide daily activity logs and end of shift reports.

Requirements

• High School or equivalent diploma
• Current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by an approved emergency cardiac care (ECC) provider
• One of the following active certifications: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT), Paramedic Certification from the Department of Health, Athletic Trainer Certification (ATC)
• OR 6 months previous military work experience in specified roles (e.g., Combat Medic, Field Medic, Healthcare Specialist, Hospital Corpsman, Aerospace Medical Service Technician).

Nice-to-haves

• Certified to teach first aid, CPR, and AED training from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience managing musculoskeletal disorders, ergonomics, and coaching on body mechanics
• Demonstrated work experience with OSHA regulations and Workers Compensation
• Proficient in digital record keeping.
