As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing a robust network infrastructure that includes firewalls, load balancers, and various network systems and services. Your expertise in Cisco and Meraki switches, routers, and wireless systems will be crucial in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the network operations. In this role, you will also be expected to have a solid understanding of TCP/IP, subnets, routing, firewalls, VPN, DNS, and domain management. You will work with Barracuda firewalls and have experience with Amazon Web Services, which will be essential for managing cloud-based solutions. Your responsibilities will include documenting and analyzing software and hardware issues, designing and testing system solutions, and providing high-level support for business-critical systems. You will troubleshoot and diagnose common system problems, recommend actions, and implement approved solutions under the guidance of the Director. Additionally, you will be tasked with upgrading system software and hardware components as needed, verifying backups, and ensuring that upgrades are performed according to established parameters. You will utilize help desk tools to track change and problem activities, and your knowledge of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, VMware, and backup solutions will be vital in maintaining both physical and virtual servers. Responsibilities

  • Design and implement network of firewalls, load balancers, and other network systems and services.
  • Document and analyze software and hardware issues.
  • Design, test, and implement systems solutions.
  • Research software and hardware products and prepare purchase orders.
  • Provide support for business-critical systems at the highest level.
  • Direct troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common system problems.
  • Analyze system events to ensure continuous functioning.
  • Recommend course of action and implement as approved by Director.
  • Upgrade system software and hardware components as required to meet business needs.
  • Verify backups and ensure upgrades occur in accordance with established parameters.
  • Utilize help desk to record change and problem activities for tracking purposes.
  • Maintain both physical and virtual servers.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with Cisco and Meraki switches, routers, and wireless systems.
  • Working knowledge of Barracuda firewalls.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnets, routing, firewalls, VPN, DNS (Public and Private), Domain Management, HTTPS, FTP, NTP.
  • Working knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Experience with Windows 7-10, Windows Server, Active Directory (AD), VMware, and Backup Exec or similar backup solutions.
  • Experience patching and maintaining systems.
  • Storage experience with SAN/Synology.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with network security protocols and best practices.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and software.
