About the position

The Onsite Technician in Inventory Services plays a crucial role in supporting Avantor's Lab and Production Services team by managing inventory replenishment and logistical activities. This position involves working closely with both internal teams and customers to ensure efficient lab operations and adherence to safety and quality protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate orders for consumable lab inventory replenishment.
  • Manage customer's point of use or stockroom inventory.
  • Responsible for logistical activities such as receiving materials through coordination with 3rd party couriers.
  • Handle and manage chemicals, including hazardous materials.
  • Perform basic order entry and follow-up on existing backorders.
  • Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Pull and Pick tickets to replenish Point of Use areas and Forward Pick Areas as needed/required.
  • Receive training on internal inventory management system and customer SAP system.
  • Print tags as required.
  • Train on motorized and manual equipment as needed/required.
  • Support warehouse needs as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years of inventory replenishment, material handling, and/or customer service experience required.
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience required.
  • Covid-19 & flu vaccinations required.
  • High level of customer service skills with a professional demeanor required.
  • Effective communication skills in writing and verbally with customers and internal contacts required.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills required.
  • Proactive thinking with the ability to prioritize tasks and self-manage required.
  • High regard for safety, quality, and adherence to protocols, policies, and procedures required.
  • Conform to all company and customer requirements for background checks, health and safety issues, and security clearances required.
