About the position

The Stepping Stones Group is looking for a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in delivering exceptional therapy services to students in schools. As an SLP, you will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech and language disorders in children. You will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of each student. Your expertise will help students improve their communication skills, which are essential for their academic success and social interactions. In this full-time, school-based position, you will be responsible for conducting evaluations to determine students' speech and language abilities, providing direct therapy services, and monitoring progress. You will also be involved in creating and implementing therapy plans that align with educational goals. Your role will require you to maintain accurate documentation of student progress and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a comprehensive approach to each student's development. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to helping students achieve their communication goals and will be skilled in using evidence-based practices. Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments and evaluations of students' speech and language abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language disorders.
  • Monitor and document student progress and adjust therapy plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' communication needs.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and strategies.
  • Provide training and support to school staff regarding speech and language development.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Experience working with children in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective therapy plans based on individual student needs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with teletherapy services.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology for communication.
  • Bilingual skills in English and another language.
