About the position

The position is for a Virtual Registered Nurse (RN) at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center, focusing on delivering patient care through remote bedside nursing from the Virtual Command Center (VCC). The role involves utilizing technology to conduct virtual health assessments and collaborate with care teams, ensuring high-quality patient care while minimizing exposure to contagious diseases.

Responsibilities

• Provide patients with virtual health assessments and treatment solutions from the Virtual Command Center.
• Create, implement, and monitor care plans in collaboration with other care teams.
• Utilize technology such as video conferencing and electronic charting effectively.
• Think and act quickly in emergency scenarios and coordinate resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited Nursing Program or currently enrolled in a program.
• Possession of a current or compact state license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Iowa.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter - Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three months of hire.
• Basic Life Support certification within six weeks of hire.
• Minimum of eight years in a clinical focus area required.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in nursing as Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) preferred.
• Master's degree in nursing as Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) accepted.
