The Hotwire opaque team at Expedia Group is a vital part of the Market Management team, focusing on strategic account optimization for a portfolio of hotels. This role involves building relationships with hotel account teams, understanding customer business issues, and recommending solutions that meet their needs. The position emphasizes collaboration, problem-solving, and effective communication to enhance customer satisfaction and drive business success.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with customer account teams, including key buyers and decision makers.
  • Assist in creating opportunities for customer engagement, such as progress and exploratory meetings.
  • Understand and report on customer business issues through appropriate organizational channels.
  • Recommend products, services, and insights that meet customer needs.
  • Acquire a good understanding of departmental operations and its fit within the larger organization.
  • Demonstrate awareness of policies, practices, trends, and competitor information that impact the organization and its customers.
  • Document components of a business case for change as directed by senior colleagues.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of financial data and standard contract terms and conditions.
  • Learn the contract negotiation process and how to complete contractual arrangements.
  • Conduct straightforward cost, benefit, and risk analyses of possible solutions and implications of not reaching agreements.
  • Identify and engage stakeholders in decision-making strategies to benefit accounts and the organization.
  • Close deals effectively and understand standard offerings and areas of expertise.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in English and local language of the market(s) where applicable.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Proficient in sales techniques and portfolio management.
  • Experience in relationship account management, upselling, and cross-selling.
  • Ability to maintain ongoing business relationships with colleagues and external customers.
  • Strategic relationship building to support total portfolio and organizational needs.
  • Understanding of customer's industry and competitive market.
