About the position

The Asia Foundation is a nonprofit international development organization committed to improving lives and expanding opportunities across Asia and the Pacific region. Informed by decades of experience and deep local expertise, our work is focused on good governance, women's empowerment and gender equality, inclusive economic growth, environment and climate action, and regional and international relations. While the Foundation operates through resident offices in 18 countries, we administer programs in more than 25 countries across Asia and the Pacific region. Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact with the donor for contract, procedural, and substantive matters.
  • Be responsible for quality control of the technical aspects of performance, procurement, personnel, reporting, and other management-related requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership for activities, including conceptualizing, designing, implementing, and monitoring innovative, cutting-edge programming and activities.
  • Ensure effective coordination with key stakeholders in the country, including relevant government officials, local implementing partners, and the donor community.
  • Supervise overall program operations, including administration, logistics, procurement, budgeting, financial accounting, and sub-award management.
  • Ensure both internal management and external coordination for successful project outcomes.
  • Supervise a team of professionals and experts and support mentoring and coaching.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in international development, digital development/ICT4D, gender studies, economic growth, public policy/administration, environment, law, conflict management, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of technical expertise in one or more focused areas in International Development.
  • At least 10 years of demonstrated leadership/managerial, technical, and administrative skills in program management, including managing budgets, activity work plans, personnel, and short-term technical assistance, and motivating and supervising team efforts.
  • At least 10 years of experience in working with donor-supported projects and knowledge of financial rules and regulations at a senior level.
  • Experience working in cross-cultural settings with a solid understanding of the value systems, traditions, and social norms and practices of different cultures; experience in Asia is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent team building and management ability.
  • Excellent representational and communication skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
