About the position

The College of Health Science & Public Health at Eastern Washington University is seeking a tenure-track faculty member for an open rank position, ranging from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor in Nursing. The role involves teaching in various learning environments, mentoring student research, conducting research for publication, and participating in community outreach. The position is designed to foster clinical competence and holistic care in nursing education, with a start date of August 16, 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Nursing courses in classroom, clinical, laboratory, and simulated learning environments.
  • Mentor student research.
  • Serve on department, college, university, and professional committees.
  • Conduct research for publication, grant acquisition, and presentation.
  • Participate in outreach to the community.
  • Engage in effective teaching and assessment of student learning.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in nursing.
  • Terminal degree in nursing or a health or education related field at the time of appointment.
  • Unencumbered Washington Registered Nurse license, or eligible for licensure.
  • Current healthcare provider CPR certification.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and identities.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply a culturally responsive and flexible approach that is supportive to the diverse needs of students, faculty, staff, and the public.
  • For Associate Professor rank: Six or more years of successful academic experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • One or more years of prior experience developing and teaching in graduate programs.
  • Experience working with Canvas or another learning management system.
  • Experience teaching in an online environment.
