About the position

The Wentworth Institute of Technology is seeking applicants for multiple Open Rank Faculty positions in the Mechanical Engineering program, focusing on areas such as aerospace, thermofluids, and robotics. The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses, engaging in research, and contributing to university service. This role is set to begin in Fall 2025 and aims to support a diverse student body in a collaborative educational environment.

Responsibilities

• Teaching both undergraduate and master's level Mechanical Engineering courses.
• Engaging in research and scholarly activity.
• Performing service to the university and the profession, including academic advising, student engagement, and serving on committees.

Requirements

• M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Demonstrated success in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Demonstrated success with research and scholarly activities related to Engineering.
• At least 3-5 years of demonstrated practical/industry related experience.
• Ability to demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Nice-to-haves

• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
