About the position

The Department of Engineering Technology at Texas State University is seeking applicants for two non tenure-line faculty positions in Construction Management. The roles are intended for teaching in the online Master of Science and the upcoming online PhD programs in Construction Management. Candidates with expertise in construction management, particularly those experienced in online teaching and research, are encouraged to apply. The selected individuals will be responsible for teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, mentoring students, and contributing to departmental service and outreach.

Responsibilities

  • Teach masters and doctoral level courses in Construction Management.
  • Teach undergraduate courses as departmental needs require.
  • Provide mentoring to graduate students.
  • Engage in industry outreach activities.
  • Offer academic and career advising and assistance.
  • Participate in departmental service and university activities.

Requirements

  • An earned doctoral degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • An undergraduate degree in Construction Management or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience teaching in an online environment.
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills.
  • For Associate Professor: A demonstrated record of excellent teaching abilities and a minimum of five years of teaching experience at the university level or five years of construction industry experience.
  • For Professor: A minimum of 10 years of teaching experience at the university level or 10 years of construction industry experience, along with a demonstrated record of leadership in teaching.

Nice-to-haves

  • Industry experience in construction management or construction engineering.
  • Ability to develop new course content for online delivery.
  • Professional certification and/or licensure in a related discipline.
