About the position

The Department of Engineering Technology at Texas State University is seeking applicants for a non tenure-line faculty position at the rank of Professor, Associate Professor, or Assistant Professor of Instruction in Engineering Management. This role involves teaching in the online Master of Science and the new PhD program in Engineering Management, focusing on providing innovative instruction primarily for distance learning students. The position is remote-work eligible and requires the selected candidate to engage in teaching graduate and some undergraduate courses, along with departmental service and mentoring responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Teach graduate level and some undergraduate courses in Engineering Management.
  • Provide relevant and innovative instruction primarily for distance learning students.
  • Engage in departmental service and university outreach activities.
  • Mentor graduate students and provide academic and career advising.
  • Develop new course content for online delivery.

Requirements

  • An earned doctoral degree in industrial engineering, systems engineering, computer/data science, management science, operations research, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • An undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited institution or a closely related field.
  • Experience teaching in an online environment.
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills.
  • For Associate Professor: A minimum of five years of teaching experience at the university level and a demonstrated record of excellent teaching abilities.
  • For Professor: A minimum of 10 years of teaching experience at the university level and a demonstrated record of leadership or significant contributions in teaching.

Nice-to-haves

  • Industry experience in management science, analytics, operations research, engineering management, engineering or engineering technology.
  • Ability to develop new course content and teach in a fully online environment.
  • Professional certification and/or licensure in a related discipline.
