About the position

The University of South Carolina is seeking multiple Open Rank Industrial Engineering Teaching Faculty members to develop, teach, and enhance undergraduate industrial engineering courses and curricula. The positions will focus on areas such as operations, quality, and manufacturing, with responsibilities including directing laboratory courses and coordinating accreditation activities. This role offers opportunities for professional advancement and is part of a collaborative effort to establish a new undergraduate engineering program set to begin in Fall 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and teach undergraduate industrial engineering courses in operations, quality, or manufacturing.
  • Continuously improve the industrial engineering curriculum.
  • Direct laboratory or capstone design courses.
  • Coordinate accreditation activities.
  • Participate in faculty governance and academic affairs.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in engineering for Teaching Assistant, Associate, and full Professor appointments.
  • Master's degree in engineering or a related concentration for Lecturer and Professor of Practice appointments.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Teaching experience in undergraduate and graduate-level industrial engineering courses.
