About the position

The School of Nursing at Clemson University is seeking applicants for an open rank, tenure-track faculty position in Healthcare Genetics and Genomics. This role is designed for candidates with expertise in genetics and genomics, particularly in areas such as oncology, precision medicine, and health professions genomics education. The position involves teaching, research, and service within the School of Nursing, contributing to the development of the Healthcare Genetics and Genomics program.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver relevant course material for undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Lead research initiatives among nursing faculty, students, and healthcare partners.
  • Serve on University, College, and School committees as elected.
  • Provide mentorship to students, including serving on PhD, Master, and undergraduate research committees.
  • Participate in activities that advance the mission and goals of the School of Nursing.

Requirements

  • PhD in Nursing or a related field.
  • Eligibility for South Carolina Registered Nurse license.
  • Evidence or potential for continued research funding and scholarly publications in genetic/genomic research.
  • Track record in genetic/genomic, cancer/oncology, precision medicine/precision health, or big data analytics research.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience teaching undergraduate and graduate level students.
  • Evidence of successful research and grant writing.
  • Experience leading laboratory and/or clinical research and supervising students.
  • Ability to lead students to successful completion of dissertation requirements.
