About the position
The Indiana University School of Public Health-Bloomington (SPH-B) is seeking applications for a tenure-track/tenured faculty position in the Department of Kinesiology, focusing on Exercise Science. This open-rank search welcomes candidates at all levels, with responsibilities including contributing to the Exercise Science Program and the newly established Nutrition and Exercise Research Center. The successful candidate will engage in impactful research, teaching, and service, promoting health for all members of society. The position is a 10-month appointment, ideally starting on August 1, 2025, with flexibility in the start date.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a robust research portfolio in public health science.
- Pursue and obtain major extramural research funding as a principal investigator.
- Teach and mentor students at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
- Provide service to the department, school, university, and the community.
- Engage in research areas such as bioenergetics, exercise interactions, weight management, and chronic disease prevention.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in Kinesiology, exercise science, or a closely related field.
- Record of research and scholarly achievement appropriate for rank.
- Experience leading sizeable research programs and securing external funding.
- Teaching experience at the graduate or professional level.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
