About the position

The OpenShift Architect role is focused on leading the migration and modernization of applications from Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) to Red Hat OpenShift. This position requires expertise in containerization, application deployment, and security measures to ensure optimized performance and seamless integrations within the cloud environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and migrate Java applications from PCF to OpenShift, maintaining functionality.
  • Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot applications on OpenShift clusters.
  • Apply containerization best practices, optimize resource use, and enhance scalability.
  • Implement security measures (RBAC, secrets management) during and after migration.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to document and support the OpenShift environment.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of IT experience.
  • 5+ years in enterprise container architecture; 2+ years in OpenShift and PCF.
  • Proficiency in Java (Spring, Hibernate, Java EE) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and hybrid/multi-cloud strategies.
  • Familiar with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform) and CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab).
  • Expertise in monitoring/logging (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) and Linux systems.
  • Experience with cloud-native, microservices, and Java app modernization.
