About the position

At Air Products, the IT Applications Analyst for ECM (OpenText) plays a crucial role in enhancing and supporting the OpenText application and its integration with other systems. This position is responsible for defining requirements, functional design, testing, and providing technical support for the OpenText application. The analyst will engage in product and lifecycle management, ensuring that application enhancements align with business objectives and deliver operational excellence. The role involves facilitating discussions to gather business requirements, documenting them into detailed functional specifications, and proposing workarounds within the OpenText application. The analyst will lead testing and validation efforts for OpenText application enhancements, collaborating with QA teams to document test cases and scripts, and coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions with business power users. Post-deployment support and hyper care will also be part of the responsibilities. Additionally, the analyst will provide end-user training, create user documentation, job aids, and training videos to ensure user proficiency with the OpenText application. Conducting design review sessions with technical leads to discuss implementation options and best practices for OpenText enhancements is essential. The analyst should have a solid understanding of Agile methodologies and project execution approaches, providing guidance to other teams as needed. Collaboration with the Change and Release Management team is necessary to ensure proper representation and coordination of projects throughout the change and release process. The role also involves working with vendors to design and implement new functionalities, continuously driving excellence in optimizing services and work processes, improving quality, and lowering costs.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate business process discussions to gather and detail business requirements.
  • Document business requirements into detailed functional specification documents.
  • Lead OpenText application enhancements testing and validation efforts.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to document test cases and scripts utilizing ServiceNow.
  • Coordinate and demo User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions with business power users.
  • Provide end-user training for existing and future system functionality enhancements.
  • Create and maintain OpenText user documentation, job aids, and training videos.
  • Conduct design review sessions with technical development leads.
  • Work with the Change and Release Management team to ensure project representation.
  • Collaborate with vendors to design and implement new functionality.
  • Drive excellence in optimizing services and work processes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of System Analysis and requirement-gathering best practices.
  • Experience in Content Server core functionalities including Search and Index, Smart UI, and Workflows.
  • Demonstrable functional understanding of Extended ECM for Engineering modules.
  • Clear understanding of OpenText Content Server module development and integration points.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering or relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work with different levels of stakeholders and design solutions that enhance user experience.
  • Experience in working with vendors to implement new functionalities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge and development experience in OScript.
  • Experience with MS SQL Server.
  • Experience in designing and developing Live reports and WebReports.
  • Experience with ServiceNow for change, release, and incident management.
  • Knowledge in migration and upgrade to OpenText Cloud Edition (CE).
  • Experience in document Transmittal solutions for engineering documents portals.
