About the position

The Research Specialist position at the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO) involves analyzing data from various sources and coordinating research efforts with multiple agencies. Responsibilities

  • Analyze data using quantitative methods from multiple data sources.
  • Coordinate with multiple agencies for research and evaluation processes.
  • Design, create, and revise research instruments as necessary.
  • Develop research designs, data collection methods, and strategies for data management.
  • Write and edit technical reports and manuscripts for publication or presentation.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Sociology, or a related field in the social sciences.
  • Experience with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, Stata) for data cleaning, analysis, and interpretation.
  • Two to four years of criminology and/or criminal justice research experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Sociology, or a related field in the social sciences.
  • Experience in SPSS, Excel, and other analysis software.
  • Advanced expertise in research methods and statistics.
