About the position

The Opener / Greeter position at Brighton Academy is a part-time role focused on providing exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for families and students. The individual will be the first point of contact for guests, managing guest relations, ensuring safety and security during check-in/check-out processes, and supporting the overall hospitality experience within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming families and students with a friendly demeanor.
• Providing an overview of daily activities and important information for parents.
• Ensuring accurate check-in and check-out of students.
• Maintaining proper records and verifying the identity of individuals picking up children.
• Ensuring a secure check-in and check-out process according to facility policies.
• Monitoring entry and exit of students to prevent unauthorized access.
• Relaying important messages or updates to parents via Brightwheel.
• Providing information on daily activities, policies, or special events to parents.
• Assisting with organizing and filing paperwork, including enrollment forms and health records.
• Helping with scheduling appointments or meetings with parents and staff.
• Maintaining a clean and organized front area to ensure it remains inviting for families.
• Addressing immediate concerns or inquiries from parents or visitors courteously and professionally.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (or currently pursuing).
• Previous experience in customer service or childcare (2 years required).
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with children, parents, and staff.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic administrative skills and proficiency with computer systems (e.g., Microsoft Office, check-in software).
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain certification).
