About the position

The General Manager at Jimmy John's is responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and high-quality product delivery while maintaining profitability. This role involves managing staff, executing corporate policies, and ensuring efficient food preparation and service.

Responsibilities

  • Establish the store's labor goals and staff needs, including pay rates.
  • Manage a staff of approximately 3 to 15 employees, including hiring, training, evaluation, discipline, and termination.
  • Provide on-the-job training for new employees.
  • Delegate and manage the ordering, receipt, storage, and issuing of all supplies to minimize loss from waste or theft.
  • Supervise food preparation and service operations to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Route deliveries and serve drivers to maximize delivery business and speed.
  • Complete daily and weekly paperwork, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • Control inventory using a weekly inventory system and maintain regular ordering schedules.
  • Conduct weekly manager's meetings and audit systems and procedures.
  • Arrange for preventive maintenance and upkeep on store's equipment and supplies.
  • Assist in-shoppers during rush periods to maintain restaurant efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Experience with a retail food company is a plus.
  • Ability to use a personal computer and various software packages (Word / Excel).
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle and resolve customer and employee issues.
