About the position

The Membership Coordinator at the YMCA of Greater Brandywine is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while supervising and training membership associates. This role involves ensuring the effective operation of the Membership Services Center, addressing member needs, and maintaining compliance with organizational procedures. The coordinator will also play a key role in staff development and communication within the branch.

Responsibilities

  • Model extraordinary customer service and the Ys core values.
  • Supervise, train, and coach membership associates in service and technical skills.
  • Ensure standard operating procedures are implemented accurately.
  • Oversee the successful operation of the Membership Services Center.
  • Develop weekly staff schedules and approve staff time/payroll in HRIS system.
  • Assist Membership Associates in handling difficult member, guest, and staff issues.
  • Collaborate with branch departments to ensure accurate communication about offerings and schedules.
  • Train staff in leading cause-driven facility tours for prospective members.
  • Assist with hiring, supervising, onboarding, and training membership associates.
  • Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age required.
  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in membership or sales required; three years preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and teach skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior knowledge of membership software systems.
  • Experience in customer service or hospitality.
