About The Position

The Operating Room Manager at St. Cloud Surgical Center is responsible for overseeing the nursing department, ensuring high-quality patient care, and managing nursing staff. This role involves leadership in coordinating patient care, supervising nursing activities, and collaborating with healthcare teams to maintain efficient operations within the surgical center.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
  • Three to five years of OR and/or medical surgical nursing experience
  • Managerial/leadership nurse experience preferred
  • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 6 months of employment
  • Successful completion of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of employment

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties of a registered nurse
  • Assume a leadership role in the provision of quality nursing care for patients
  • Supervise, coordinate, and delegate nursing activities in the facility
  • Communicate directly with the healthcare team to provide quality patient care
  • Maintain an efficient and safe schedule for patient care
  • Coordinate with surgeons/physicians a general plan of care for patients
  • Collaborate with materials management to ensure proper equipment and supplies are available
  • Assist in the hiring, orientation, training, evaluation, and discipline of nursing personnel
  • Directly supervise and delegate job responsibilities to maintain a positive work environment
  • Provide written and verbal evaluations to team members
  • Assess the quality of care given to patients
  • Enforce policies and procedures in line with current standards of practice
  • Participate in meetings established by the Team, Clinical Director, and CEO
  • Participate in new equipment and materials education programs
  • Establish, monitor, and evaluate a safe therapeutic environment
  • Work with CEO and Materials Management to develop a yearly budget plan
  • Communicate with staff regularly
  • Assist Quality Improvement in developing and implementing nursing activities
  • Report any patient injury/grievance to the Medical Director and assist in resolution
  • Assist in establishing an orientation program for new personnel
  • Report needed repairs of instruments/equipment
  • Work with various healthcare management systems
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
