About the position

The Operating Room Travel Nurse position is a temporary, full-time role focused on providing nursing care in surgical settings, specifically in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) and open heart surgeries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surgical nursing and be able to demonstrate expertise in various surgical procedures. This role requires travel to different locations, with a competitive compensation package.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the operating room during surgical procedures.
• Assist in CVOR and open heart surgeries as a scrub and circulating nurse.
• Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy as needed.
• Administer conscious sedation under supervision.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and care quality.

Requirements

• Valid New York State RN License.
• BLS Certification.
• ACLS Certification.
• Minimum of two years of experience in operating room nursing.
• Two years of experience in CVOR and open heart surgeries.
• Experience in scrub and circulating roles for surgical procedures.
• Proficiency in IV insertion and phlebotomy.
