About the position

The Operational Change Manager will oversee the management of operational changes within the organization, ensuring a seamless transition for users. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including leadership, technical teams, and end users, to implement effective change management strategies that enhance user adoption and proficiency, particularly in relation to the Maximo upgrade.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive change management strategy focusing on end-user adoption and proficiency.
  • Identify and engage key stakeholders across departments, acting as a liaison between technical teams and end users.
  • Assess the change impact of the Maximo upgrade on current workflows and business processes, conducting readiness assessments and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Create and execute a communication plan to keep stakeholders informed about project milestones and changes.
  • Collaborate with training teams to develop and deliver targeted training materials, overseeing training efforts for user confidence in new functionalities.
  • Identify potential resistance to change and develop proactive strategies to address these risks, managing issues related to change fatigue.
  • Define key success metrics and ensure they are measured throughout the implementation process, reporting progress to senior leadership.
  • Support post-go-live activities, including evaluation of user issues and gathering feedback for a smooth transition.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, IT, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in change management, ideally in utility or public sector environments.
  • Strong background in change management and organizational transformation, with experience in enterprise asset management (EAM) systems, particularly IBM Maximo.
  • Proven track record of managing change within EAM systems, preferably IBM Maximo.
  • Strong understanding of utility operations, asset management, and maintenance processes.
  • Knowledge of project management tools and processes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive and independent mindset, able to develop their own workplan.
  • Ability to thrive in environments lacking clearly defined processes, proposing and implementing improvements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to a dynamic project environment.
  • Certification in change management methodologies (e.g., Prosci, ACMP) preferred.
