About the position

The Operational Engineering Lead for Vaccines Manufacturing at GSK is responsible for enhancing the reliability, productivity, and maintenance efficiency of manufacturing operations. This role involves deploying operational excellence methods, managing improvement programs, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards. The position requires collaboration with site teams to identify improvement opportunities and drive sustainable performance enhancements, while also overseeing governance processes for operational engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy Operational excellence methods and programmes to support productivity targets.
  • Lead training to demonstrate methods and benefits, building capability through example.
  • Embed within site teams to identify improvement opportunities and drive sustainable performance improvement.
  • Programme manage multiple sites to deliver benefits once operational.
  • Ensure KPIs for Operational Engineering activities are effective in driving performance and improvement.
  • Act as the single point of contact for Vaccines LT for Engineering matters.
  • Build relationships with OEMs and service providers to enhance reliability and productivity.
  • Use benchmarking to identify performance levels and improvement opportunities.
  • Update GPS road map and prioritize activities with the site.
  • Define the overall Operational Engineering programme for sites in collaboration with GPS personnel.
  • Drive the Asset Life cycle and asset performance management programme across Vaccines.
  • Oversee savings tracking and Opex Budget for maintenance and reliability activities.
  • Develop and deploy the overall capability strategy for operational engineering in the sites.
  • Ensure effective governance and compliance with Engineering expectations and standards.
  • Facilitate environmental sustainability programmes across Energy, Water, and Waste.
  • Provide Technical Expertise and Strategic support on EHS and Quality fundamentals.
  • Manage talent management and succession planning across the Manufacturing group.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 10 years of post-graduate experience in a high intensity, cost-focused manufacturing business.
  • Experience in delivering operational efficiency and deploying Lean, Total Productive Maintenance, or continuous improvement toolkits.
  • Experience in highly regulated environments such as pharma, healthcare, food, cosmetics, or aeronautics.
  • Experience managing wide groups of stakeholders, including Senior Management.
