About the position

The Operational Excellence Lead at Valcor Engineering is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization using Lean Manufacturing methodologies. This role focuses on enhancing safety, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency by facilitating improvement events and promoting a culture of accountability and excellence. The position requires interaction with employees at all levels and aims to implement best practices and metrics-driven strategies to achieve operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a metrics-based, data-driven culture with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and analyze metrics to identify trends or opportunities for cost savings and quality improvements.
  • Effectively deploy Lean/Continuous Improvement methods within the organization.
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Quality teams to reduce scrap and rework through Lean/CI initiatives.
  • Facilitate company-wide kaizen activities to achieve tangible cost savings.
  • Provide timely and accurate project status updates to all organizational levels.
  • Develop and maintain process maps for project and process improvement efforts.
  • Assist key suppliers in adopting Lean Methodologies.
  • Interface with customers to adopt best practices where possible.
  • Implement and embrace a visual workplace including metrics, 6S, and standard work.
  • Drive a culture of accountability and adherence to Valcor's Personal Guarantee Program and Quality Management System.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of Operational Excellence/Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • DMAIC Green Belt or equivalent; Lean, TPM, or Six Sigma experience and/or certifications.
  • Project Management experience leading/managing large cross-functional projects and timelines.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Visio, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Experience training and coaching others in problem-solving methodologies is preferred.
  • Statistical analysis software experience (i.e., Minitab) is preferred.
