About the position

The Operational Excellence Manager at Reasor's is responsible for overseeing the management and operations of various store departments to ensure the quality of products, food and physical safety, and optimal inventory stock levels. This role involves executing merchandising plans, ensuring adherence to company standards and procedures, and managing the achievement of store sales and profits through acceptable business practices. The manager will also promote exceptional customer service and maintain a positive shopping experience for customers. In this position, the manager will carry out essential management responsibilities, which include interviewing, hiring, training, and developing staff. They will plan, assign, and direct work, appraise performance, reward and discipline partners, and address complaints while resolving problems. The manager will review historical data to predict future sales from advertisements and promotions, manage inventory using item management processes, and ensure satisfactory in-stock levels. Additionally, they will review profit and loss, sales, shrink, and labor data, providing verbal or written summaries to upper management regarding any related issues. The Operational Excellence Manager is also responsible for maintaining and improving sales performance, cash flow, public relations, product quality, and work standards. They will frequently be required to open and close the store, ensuring that it is presentable for customers and that adequate staff is available. The manager will enforce quality control and food safety standards throughout multiple departments, ensuring that dated products are stocked and rotated properly. This role requires a strong understanding of retail grocery store operations and the ability to lead and motivate others effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage staff and operations of various store departments to ensure quality of product, food and physical safety, and inventory stock levels.
  • Oversee execution of merchandising plans and ensure adherence to company standards and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age required.
  • Associates Degree in related field and two or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required.
  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) certification required.
  • Manager Food Safety certification required.
  • AML certification required.
  • TABC/LACT certification required where applicable.
  • Fuel Operator C Training required where applicable.
  • Intermediate knowledge of retail grocery store operations.
  • Basic understanding of company checkout policies and procedures.
  • Basic knowledge and compliance of state laws regarding the sale of alcohol, tobacco, and lottery, as applicable.
  • Basic knowledge of anti-money laundering and other government regulations relating to monetary transactions.
  • Basic knowledge of cash register operations.
  • Basic knowledge of on-site fuel station procedures, if applicable.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP for reporting purposes.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
