About the position

The Operational Excellence Manager is responsible for overseeing all functions within the Peachtree City facility, including production, maintenance, quality, shipping, and continuous improvement. This role collaborates closely with the Plant Manager and Operations Manager to develop floor supervision, promote positive labor relations, and facilitate communication across all levels of the organization. The manager leads process improvement projects, assists in planning and goal setting, and ensures operational efficiency and profitability in manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all functions within the Peachtree City facility including production, maintenance, quality, and shipping.
  • Lead and facilitate process improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.
  • Develop and implement operational excellence strategies and roadmaps in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process bottlenecks and propose innovative solutions.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify operational strengths and weaknesses.
  • Review plant-operating practices to maintain and enhance safety, production, and quality standards.
  • Support the identification and implementation of new manufacturing methods and quality improvements.
  • Report all EH&S incidents and ensure adherence to Waste Management and Recycling responsibilities.
  • Attend plant safety meetings and conduct weekly audits as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • 6-8 years of manufacturing experience in a management capacity.
  • Experience in at least two different manufacturing support functions such as Production Control or Quality Assurance.
  • Strong knowledge of product structure, manufacturing processes, and quality standards.
  • Proficiency in Six Sigma, TPM, and Lean Manufacturing concepts.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and 5S methodologies.
  • Human relations skills to effectively engage employees.
