About the position

The Operational Excellence (OPX) Engineer at thyssenkrupp Bilstein of America, Inc. is responsible for identifying and implementing activities that enhance the organization's performance across various dimensions, including safety, sustainability, quality, delivery, and cost. This role involves facilitating continuous improvement initiatives, leading projects, and supporting the organization's strategic goals through data-driven decision-making and lean manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies.
  • Advocate for and promote a safe work environment by reporting hazards and encouraging safety practices.
  • Implement solutions aligned with the organization's strategic goals and drive completion of action plans.
  • Analyze manufacturing operations to identify process trends and drive improvements.
  • Develop and manage operational breakthroughs in performance using industry best practices.
  • Support and apply lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity.
  • Justify investments for improvements using validated data for cost savings.
  • Utilize statistics and analysis for data-driven decision-making.
  • Facilitate monthly cross-functional workshops on continuous improvement analysis.
  • Conduct audits of lean activities to ensure compliance and understanding.
  • Measure and analyze resource productivity using time and motion studies.
  • Address stakeholder needs proactively to improve organizational performance.
  • Facilitate workshops for designing efficient layouts of equipment and workspace.
  • Initiate valuable projects based on stakeholder input and data analysis.
  • Ensure compliance and safety of all activities within organizational standards.

Requirements

  • Experience with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills to all audience levels.
  • Experience leading teams through improvement projects and problem-solving.
  • Strong skills in data analysis, statistics, and manufacturing systems.
  • Experience driving improvements in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and shift priorities to meet business needs.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and trust to affect change.
  • Successful track record of leveraging operational excellence tools to drive improvements.
  • Solid project management experience.
