About the position

The Operational Excellence Team Leader at Brookshire Grocery Company is responsible for executing store operation standards and procedures to ensure product quality, food safety, and inventory management. This role involves indirect management of store sales and profits, promoting customer service, and training and developing team members.

Responsibilities

  • Execute various store operation standards and procedures to maintain product quality and safety.
  • Train and develop partners, schedule, plan, assign, and direct work in conjunction with upper management.
  • Co-manage inventory to ensure satisfactory in-stock levels using item management processes.
  • Review profit and loss, sales, shrink, and labor data with upper management.
  • Maintain and improve sales performance, cash flow, and product quality.
  • Open and close the store as required, ensuring a presentable shopping experience.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and adherence to safety and fiscal management of cash assets.
  • Follow quality control and food safety standards across departments.
  • Implement loss prevention and shrink reduction initiatives.
  • Participate in effective merchandising plans to increase sales through displays and promotions.
  • Provide exemplary customer service and enforce customer engagement standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age required; partners must be 21 years or older to drive for Company business.
  • High School diploma or GED and two or more years of related experience, or equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required.
  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) certification required.
  • Manager Food Safety certification required.
  • AML certification required.
  • TABC/LACT certification required where applicable.
  • Fuel Operator C Training required where applicable.
  • Intermediate knowledge of retail grocery store operations and Workforce Management (WFM).
  • Basic understanding of cash register and Company checkout policies.
  • Ability to lead and motivate others, communicate effectively, and manage time.
  • Ability to evaluate partner performance and maintain confidentiality.

Nice-to-haves

  • Basic knowledge of anti-money laundering and other government regulations relating to monetary transactions.
  • Basic knowledge of on-site fuel station procedures, if applicable.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP for reporting purposes.
  • Ability to learn new technology systems and perform basic Microsoft Office functions.
