About the position

The Operational Excellence Team Leader at Brookshire Grocery Company is responsible for executing store operation standards and procedures to ensure product quality, food safety, and inventory management. This role involves training and developing team members, managing inventory, and promoting customer service while indirectly overseeing sales and profit achievement.

Responsibilities

  • Execute various store operation standards and procedures to maintain product quality and safety.
  • Train and develop partners in conjunction with upper management.
  • Co-manage inventory to ensure satisfactory in-stock levels.
  • Review profit and loss, sales, shrink, and labor data with upper management.
  • Maintain and improve sales performance and work standards.
  • Open and close the store as required.
  • Ensure the store is presentable and adequately staffed for customer shopping experience.
  • Adhere to quality control and food safety standards across departments.
  • Implement loss prevention and shrink reduction strategies.
  • Participate in effective merchandising plans to increase sales.
  • Provide exemplary customer service and enforce customer engagement standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age required; 21 years to drive for Company business.
  • High School diploma or GED and two or more years of related experience or equivalent combination of experience and/or higher education required.
  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) certification required.
  • Manager Food Safety certification required.
  • AML certification required.
  • TABC/LACT certification required where applicable.
  • Fuel Operator C Training required where applicable.

Nice-to-haves

  • Intermediate knowledge of retail grocery store operations.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Workforce Management (WFM).
  • Basic knowledge of cash register and checkout policies.
  • Basic knowledge of state laws regarding the sale of alcohol, tobacco, and lottery.
  • Basic knowledge of anti-money laundering regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP for reporting purposes.
  • Ability to lead and motivate others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage time.
