About the position

SAIC is seeking an Operational Research Analyst to provide support to our team at Fort Belvoir. This position will analyze actual and predictable interacting operational activities of a military, governmental, or business system to obtain a qualitative or quantitative, rational basis for decision-making, policies (e.g., Doctrine, Organization, Training, Leader Development, Material, Personnel, Facilities) or resource allocation in support of US Government policy goals and objectives. The role requires a deep understanding of operational research methodologies and the ability to apply them effectively in a variety of contexts. The analyst will be responsible for utilizing judgment, experience, and subject matter expertise, along with decision support tools, to derive insights from complex data sets. This includes employing advanced modeling and measurement techniques, mathematics, statistical methods, and other principles in the professional body of knowledge to determine effective solutions. In addition to analytical tasks, the Operational Research Analyst will provide integral policy support in the capability development and integration of solutions. This involves the conceptualization, design, development, testing, verification and validation, documentation, and implementation of modeling and simulation-based decision support system applications. The analyst will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that the solutions developed align with the strategic objectives of the organization and meet the needs of the end-users. This position is critical in supporting the decision-making processes that impact resource allocation and operational effectiveness within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes judgment, experience and subject matter expertise, decision support tools, and basic to extremely complex modeling and measurement techniques, mathematics, statistical methods and other principles in the professional body of knowledge in determining solutions.
  • Provides integral policy support in the capability development and integration of solutions and the conceptualization, design, development, testing, verification and validation, documentation, and implementation of modeling and simulation based decision support system applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree and 14 years of experience, additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Experience with working with large DoD organizations
  • Proficient research and analytical skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Military experience, or experience with contracting or the federal government a plus.
  • Master's Degree in a related field.
