About the position
The Operations Accountant (Reporting Analyst) will assist in designing, developing, implementing and maintaining the accounting system used across the Loan Accounting Team. The role ensures that new and existing portfolios are accurately created and maintained in the Firm's General Ledger ('GL') suite and assists the Loan Accounting Team during peak times with account reconciliation. This position extensively collaborates with cross-functional teams within Fund Accounting and across Technology Solutions, Operations and Treasury.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the maintenance and improvement of various GL-related systems (systems include WSO Accounting and Workday)
- Supporting project development and management of a consistent and standardized approach to GL across all portfolios
- Collaborating with partner teams to understand and implement their requests as it relates to GL and reporting needs
- Building and maintaining a database of financial metrics and data for the Loan Accounting Team
- Preparing management reports as requested
- Providing operational support to Operations Accounting Managers and other team members as needed
- Supporting ad-hoc and special client or business requests
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required (accounting degree preferred)
- 3+ years of relevant experience in a similar business area (private equity, leveraged finance, hedge fund or similar) is strongly preferred
- Advanced level of proficiency in Excel a must
- Technical project management experience a plus
- System configuration, testing and maintenance experience a plus
- Advanced proficiency in Wall Street Office, Workday or other similar applications is preferred
- Strong accounting, financial and GL experience in banking or lending a plus
