About the position

The Operations Analyst (Action Officer) will play a crucial role in supporting senior leadership within the Department of the Navy by managing, coordinating, and tracking various initiatives, tasks, and projects. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, providing essential administrative, operational, and programmatic support to facilitate decision-making and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the execution of assigned tasks from senior leadership, ensuring deadlines are met and objectives achieved.
  • Track and monitor progress on various initiatives, report on status, identify roadblocks, and suggest course corrections.
  • Compile, analyze, and disseminate data and reports to stakeholders for informed decision-making.
  • Serve as the point of contact between senior leadership, internal teams, and external partners, fostering clear communication.
  • Schedule, prepare for, and attend meetings, taking notes and generating after-action reports.
  • Ensure effective execution of policies, directives, and plans in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Provide analytical support to identify issues and recommend solutions or alternative courses of action.
  • Handle urgent or short-term assignments and requests, adapting to dynamic priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in project management, task coordination, or a similar role, preferably within the government or US Navy sectors.
  • Experience supporting senior leaders and working within large organizations.
  • Knowledge of relevant government policies, procedures, and administrative operations is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and related technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including briefing and report-writing.
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior military or government experience is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with government tasking systems and budget process.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or consulting background is a plus.
