About the position

The Operations Analyst II in the Revenue Cycle at Mayo Clinic is responsible for analyzing, redesigning, and implementing process improvements within the Enterprise Revenue Cycle. This role requires in-depth knowledge of the healthcare environment and serves as a resource for revenue cycle topics, ensuring operational effectiveness and compliance with regulations. The analyst will gather and analyze data for decision-making, lead internal reviews, and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Participates and supports groups analyzing, redesigning, and implementing process improvements and new programs in the Enterprise Revenue Cycle.
  • Serves as a resource to the Enterprise Revenue Cycle, clinical operations, and the institution for revenue cycle topics and issues.
  • Initiates solutions and identifies resource impact to ensure operational effectiveness by working with Operations and SS in redesigning systems and workflows.
  • Assists in gathering and analyzing data for decision-making and process improvement within the revenue cycle and clinical operations.
  • Participates and/or leads internal reviews, training, projects, and multi-disciplinary workgroups related to internal quality reviews, training, compliance initiatives, reporting initiatives, benchmarking, research and analysis, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Actively communicates pertinent information to various audiences.
  • Troubleshoots operational and systems issues and oversees resolutions.
  • Leads and coordinates effective meetings which include participants throughout Mayo Clinic.
  • Assists with ensuring compliance of federal and state requirements.
  • Documents changed processes and ensures changes are incorporated into training and internal control materials for Enterprise Revenue Cycle staff and other users.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Finance Revenue Cycle or Healthcare.
  • Extensive knowledge of physician and hospital billing systems for Governmental, managed care, and commercial payers.
  • Customer-service oriented, timely in responses to requests for service/information, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities, and possess leadership skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of the revenue cycle systems.
  • Contractual experience and/or knowledge of Payer policies with regard to Revenue Cycle and claim processing.
  • Preferred knowledge and experience in Project Management.
