About the position

As a clinical professional on our Medical Management/Health Services team, you will play a crucial role in changing the lives of our 28 million members. The Operations Analyst II position is designed for individuals who are eager to develop their skills in researching and analyzing enrollment data and business processes. Under direct supervision, you will be responsible for implementing process improvements while acquiring a more advanced skill set for designing and implementing strategic solutions. This role requires you to interface with both internal associates and external resources, including subcontractors and government entities, to gather information and implement effective solutions. In this position, you will participate in various projects aimed at identifying and documenting business requirements, implementing new technology, and resolving business issues. You will also be involved in planning and developing systems implementation tactics, which includes providing input for project and test plans. Your analytical skills will be put to the test as you gather, evaluate, interpret, and analyze data and business processes, or develop test scenarios to evaluate system defects. You will be expected to present information, recommendations, and alternatives to facilitate management's understanding of results and their impact on the organization. Additionally, you will evaluate Enrollment department policies and procedures, recommending changes to improve overall productivity and quality of department systems. Identifying opportunities to streamline operations and automate manual processes will be a key part of your responsibilities. At times, you may also assume responsibility for ensuring data integrity among various internal groups and between internal and external sources. Your participation in projects will contribute to the achievement of department objectives, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to established objectives and documented requirements. You will also assist in developing project plans, test plans, implementation strategies, and post-implementation plans, providing business function support for system upgrades and government-mandated change orders. Preparing status reports and issue resolutions for internal associates and external resources will also be part of your role. Furthermore, you will participate in developing and reviewing business system requirements and scope and design documents, troubleshoot user-reported system defects, and educate users on issues that are not true-system defects.

Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze enrollment data and business processes to develop and implement process improvements.
  • Interface with internal associates and external resources, including subcontractors and government entities, to gather information and implement solutions.
  • Participate in projects to identify and document business requirements, implement new technology, and resolve business issues.
  • Plan and develop systems implementation tactics, including project and test plan input.
  • Gather, evaluate, interpret, and analyze data and business processes, or develop test scenarios to evaluate system defects.
  • Present information, recommendations, and alternatives to facilitate management understanding of results and impact.
  • Produce reports or file extracts for data analysis.
  • Evaluate Enrollment department policies and procedures and recommend changes to improve overall productivity and quality of department systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve system processes and recommend changes to streamline operations and/or automate manual processes.
  • Participate in developing project plans, test plans, implementation strategies, and post-implementation plans.
  • Provide business function support for system upgrades and government-mandated change orders.
  • Prepare status reports and/or issue resolution to internal associates and/or external resources.
  • Participate in developing and reviewing business system requirements and scope and design documents.
  • Troubleshoot user-reported system defects and educate users on issues that are not true-system defects.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in researching and analyzing data for the purpose of process improvement is preferred.
  • Two years health plan or health insurance operations experience, including participating on project teams.
  • Experience in Enrollment, billing and/or claims processing preferred.
  • Experience with AmBetter, Qualtrics Discover, and process improvement highly preferred.
