About the position

As an Operations Analyst at ICF, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our growing portfolio of work with utilities in the Midwest. This position is designed for an experienced professional who has a proven track record in multi-project execution, budget management, data analytics, and reporting. You will be responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive strategy that focuses on the coordination of analytics, reporting, research, organization, and process efficiency across multiple large portfolios. This will involve leveraging regional staff based on fluctuating workloads and developing best practices for programmatic functions such as project reviews, performance tracking, client deliverables, and project startup activities. In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Program Operations, our Mid-Central Region Lead, and local implementation teams. Your primary focus will be on delivering energy efficiency and bill savings to all customers, including under-served communities, while ensuring grid stability and providing safer, more energy-efficient homes. You will direct the quality and performance of the team responsible for various tasks, including the coordination of regular program-level deliverables, supporting internal and external team meetings, and generating accurate and polished deliverables for all regulatory filings and reports. You will also manage operations for the implementation of client portfolios, ensuring that programs are performing as expected and explaining forecasted variances. This position requires strong communication skills, as you will be presenting performance metrics to both internal and external stakeholders. Your ability to collaborate with program managers and coordinate with various teams will be essential in achieving the desired outcomes for our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the quality and performance of the team responsible for coordination of regular program-level deliverables.
  • Support internal and external team meetings by preparing and pulling quantitative data, coordinating with project managers on qualitative inputs, and documenting action items.
  • Initiate program-level incentive invoices, review data points with project manager, and submit for client approval.
  • Coordinate with the rebate processing team to ensure all incentives are processed.
  • Generate accurate and polished deliverables for all regulatory filings, reports, and presentations.
  • Maintain and update shared files, resources, and program documents to ensure all program staff has access to the latest versions of materials.
  • Coordinate with program managers to develop and maintain portfolio-level performance forecasts and trend analysis.
  • Track contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and coordinate with portfolio manager on any necessary corrective action plans.
  • Coordinate with IT team for prioritization of requests and projects.
  • Maintain business workflow documents.
  • Manage operations for the implementation of client portfolios, ensuring that the programs are performing as expected and explaining forecasted variances.
  • Collaborate with program managers to ensure all activities related to quality program delivery are executed.
  • Present performance metrics to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (one year of related experience can substitute for one year of education).
  • 2+ years of experience working in successful energy efficiency or demand response programs, or consulting projects for utilities, state energy offices, or related work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with clients and colleagues at all levels.
  • Advanced proficiency in Business Applications (such as Google, MS Office, Visualizations, Data Analytics).
  • Advanced analytical skills and experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools.
  • Experience with advanced Microsoft data software such as SharePoint Lists and Power Automate.
  • Knowledge of utility and energy efficiency, demand response, and distributed energy resource programs and markets.
  • Certifications related to operational excellence (PMP, Six Sigma, etc.) and/or industry-specific certificates (LEED, BPI, RESNET, etc.).
  • Professional affiliations including AESP, ACEEE, or AEE.
  • Experience working with Low-Income Communities and/or Agencies or other relevant volunteer experience.
