About the position

MAG Aerospace is seeking an Operations Support Specialist to support the Project Manager for Cyber and Space (PM C&S) with the in-processing of new personnel and assisting in the administration and processing of travel requirements. This position offers a unique opportunity to be involved in the newly formed PM Cyber & Space and to contribute to the rapidly growing Cyber Development Product Office, which is responsible for key capabilities within the offensive cyber operations domain. The role may allow for telework flexibility, with the possibility of working remotely for up to 2 to 3 days a week. In this position, the Operations Support Specialist will be responsible for creating and maintaining all newcomer products, including binders, handouts, and letters for military, civilian, and SETA personnel. The specialist will serve as the organizational HR point of contact, managing in/out-processing checklists and guiding newcomers and outgoing personnel through the transition process with active follow-up to ensure smooth and timely transitions. This role is critical in ensuring that all personnel are properly oriented and that their travel requirements are efficiently managed. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the Defense Travel System (DTS) and its integration with travel policy, including the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR). They will be expected to create and maintain routing lists, manage personnel travel, and generate reports as needed. Additionally, the Operations Support Specialist will monitor the balance of current Lines of Accounting (LOA) and communicate with the Budget Management Division (BMD) teams regarding funding issues. Excellent communication skills are essential, as the specialist will need to convey requirements and changes related to travel documents to both military and government travelers. Proficiency in MS Office is also required for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain newcomer products, binders, handouts, and letters for military, civilian, and SETA personnel.
  • Serve as the organizational HR point of contact for in/out-processing checklists.
  • Guide newcomers and outgoing personnel through the transition process with active follow-up.
  • Learn and maintain an up-to-date understanding of the Defense Travel System (DTS) and its policies.
  • Create and maintain routing lists in DTS, including adding and removing personnel and travel.
  • Run reports related to travel and personnel management.
  • Create and maintain a database of required trainings and requirements.
  • Monitor the balance of current Lines of Accounting (LOA) and communicate with BMD teams regarding funding issues.
  • Communicate requirements and changes regarding travel documents to military and government travelers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working collaboratively with program management, schedule analysts, and operations personnel.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to learn and understand the Defense Travel System (DTS) and Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
