About the position

The Data Analyst, Product Development role at Pearson involves collaborating with a dynamic team to enhance the GED exam and its associated study products. Responsibilities

  • Understand Pearson's functional roles that rely on Product Data and maintain a deep understanding of one or two specific areas.
  • Serve as a Data Steward for functional roles, hosting meetings, authoring glossaries, and communicating data updates to stakeholders.
  • Perform root cause analyses related to product data to support other teams.
  • Prioritize and drive large-scale data projects to completion, conceiving new projects aligned with GED's Product Data vision.
  • Gather requirements and documentation to ensure global product data is valid, accurate, complete, and timely.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in completing data queries using MS SQL Server, Google GBQ, or Tableau reports.
  • Enforce Pearson's Product Data Governance rules and advocate for Data-Informed decision making across the company.
  • Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and vLookup, and be comfortable with Microsoft Teams and Tableau.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of KPIs and data points supporting overall data quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and balance priorities effectively.
  • Willingness to work independently or collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
  • Flexibility to work with an international team across multiple time zones.
  • Experience managing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
  • Independent mindset with the ability to work autonomously with minimal direction.
  • Great organizational skills and adaptability to changes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders from varied cultural backgrounds.
  • Degree (or equivalent) preferred.
