About the position

The Operations Analyst position at IFC Systems Corporation is a critical role within the Corporate Portfolio Management (CPM) Department, which operates under the Senior Vice President of Operations. The IFC is a member of the World Bank Group and is the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets. The organization works in over 100 countries, leveraging its capital, expertise, and influence to create markets and opportunities aimed at ending extreme poverty and boosting shared prosperity on a livable planet. In this role, the Operations Analyst will be responsible for providing analytical support related to IFC Operations. This includes collaborating with colleagues across various departments to prepare operational reports, contributing to talking points, briefs, and presentations for IFC Management and the Board, and responding to ad-hoc requests from colleagues within the World Bank Group. The analyst will also support Private Capital Mobilization (PCM) and Core Mobilization (CM) related reporting and analytics, enhancing reporting processes, and promoting automation. The CPMRA team, which the Operations Analyst will join, is tasked with overseeing the provision and update of accurate, consistent, and timely operational reports and data. The analyst will lead the design and preparation of IFC operational reports and analytical products, ensuring high quality and timely delivery. The role also involves supporting innovations in reporting and analytics, including the development of dashboards and reports, and identifying new opportunities to leverage data science. The analyst will participate in working groups and initiatives to support the unit and department's objectives, and will be expected to support complex research and exploratory analytics by diagnosing specific problems and identifying emerging issues or trends. Overall, this position is integral to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of IFC's operations through data-driven insights and strategic reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical support related to IFC Operations, including preparing various operational reports.
  • Contribute to talking points, briefs, and presentations for IFC Management and the Board.
  • Review and respond to ad-hoc requests from colleagues across the World Bank Group.
  • Support Private Capital Mobilization (PCM) and Core Mobilization (CM) related reporting and analytics.
  • Enhance reporting processes to improve efficiency and promote automation.
  • Support innovations in reporting and analytics, including the development of dashboards and reports.
  • Work closely with Data Scientist experts and collaborate with other Data Science colleagues.
  • Participate in working groups and initiatives to support the unit and department's objectives.
  • Support complex research and exploratory analytics by diagnosing specific problems and identifying emerging issues or trends.
  • Support knowledge sharing related to IFC Operations reporting and analytics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (business, economics, international development, finance, data science, or political science).
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Proven ability to synthesize large volumes of data and prepare quantitative and qualitative reports.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound business judgment.
  • Ability to communicate complex results to technical and non-technical audiences clearly and concisely.
  • Familiarity with IFC/World Bank operations, procedures, and culture is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Power BI, Business Objects, and Tableau is strongly preferred.
  • Productive and comfortable at multi-tasking, with the capacity to work under pressure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with IFC operations portals and systems, and data structure is a strong plus.
