About the position

The Operations and Business Manager at Mindful Works plays a crucial role in supporting the Executive Director and ensuring the smooth operation of the organization. This part-time position involves overseeing various administrative and operational tasks related to the design, manufacturing, and sales of soft goods, while also mentoring program participants in their transition to the traditional labor market. The role requires flexibility, strategic thinking, and a commitment to the organization's mission of empowering individuals in recovery from mental health challenges.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of administrative and office oversight activities to support the Executive Director and staff.
• Facilitate the efficient operation of the organization in the design, manufacturing, assembly, and sales of soft goods.
• Work with leadership to expand sales channels including B2C, B2B, wholesale, and consignment.
• Implement best practices to grow Mindful Works as an employment social enterprise.
• Track inventory and source raw materials.
• Coordinate work assignments with program participants and maintain shop organization.
• Utilize computer and office equipment proficiently, including Excel and Microsoft Office 365.
• Coordinate sales and marketing outreach, including participation in artisan fairs on weekends as needed.
• Manage and track sales orders and assist in selecting and managing CRM systems.
• Communicate with customers and promote outstanding customer service.
• Develop policies for all administrative functions and ensure safety of cloud-based services.
• Onboard, train, supervise, evaluate, and off-board employees, while mentoring team members.

Requirements

• 1 year of management experience (preferred).
• Experience in customer service and product development.
• Strong organizational skills and flexibility to transition between projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and WordPress.
• Capacity to think strategically and engage in tactical execution.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and be on feet for most of the workday.
